The Appointment

• The physicians at Bernstein & McCasland, M.D., P.C. allow ample time for thorough evaluation, including review of medical records from other providers.  If you have MRI or other types of films, please bring them with you, and remember that the actual films are more valuable to us than the report.
• During the initial evaluation, Drs. Bernstein and McCasland interview patients alone, away from family members.  This is crucial to proper neurologic evaluation and is our office policy.  Family members are invited to hear the doctors’ opinions and recommendations, and to ask questions, after the examination.
• Please remember that for a complete neurologic evaluation, you may be asked to undress and wear a gown, depending on the nature of the appointment.
• If you have been referred for or will be undergoing EMG testing, please come to the appointment with clean, dry skin – no lotions or oils, as they interfere with the testing process.  You may, of course, apply these when the test is completed.
